evenstarsinthesky: goat-yells-at-everything: positive-memes: Mae Bua DUDE! YOU GOTTA POST THE WHOLE STORY CUSE IT GETS BETTER! She was one of the first volunteers to come to the cave. She worked to cook meals and provide rest for the soldiers and divers trying to get to the boys. She has 5 acres of land where she farms rice all on her own since her husband died and she left it shortly after planting to go and give what she could to the rescue effort. She returned home a week later to find her fields flooded by the water being pumped out of the cave system. From what the article says, it doesn’t seem to have destroyed all her (and almost a dozen other farmers) crops but it was a good portion of them. This woman is wonderful. She could have seen this as a “no good deed goes unpunished” but she just laughed it off and said it was worth it to save those boys. In relation to the waters being flooded into the fields Thank you to all the heroes and heroines of this Thai rescue mission 🙏🏼

trelesire: theintrovertedartist: Amerikkka While this scene is funny as fuck, keep in mind its direct commentary on the LA Riots and the death of Latasha Harlins. And these store owners never stopped acting like this…

spiletta42: This is not an exaggeration. Your download speed would slow down to the point where Windows would make this kind of absurd estimate, and you’d sigh and leave the room for a while (because you couldn’t use the computer while it was doing this for fear it would crash and lose all your progress) and then you’d come back in 40 minutes and maybe it would now say 52 years or maybe it would say 3 minutes, who knew, not Windows.

aaliyah-appollonia: thatpettyblackgirl: hundondestiny: thatpettyblackgirl: TF This story was much more horrifying than hanging a baby. She ran a daycare. A man was dropping off his daughter one morning and the woman told him she had done something bad and she couldn’t take it anymore. She lead him to his basement where a 16-month old child was hanging by her own tights from a pipe in the ceiling. He immediately freed the child and ran off with the baby and his own daughter. At that time, this woman fled in a minivan. She rear-ended one car which rear-ended another car. The man in the first car got out to assess the damage, and she drove off into traffic, dragging him for 10 or so feet. She continues to drive, hits a cyclist who has suffered bone breaks and has had to get rods in his legs to avoid amputation. And then she KEEPS driving and hits ANOTHER car that a pregnant woman was driving. She then pulled over at an overpass and threatened to jump before bystanders subdued her until police arrived. The judge over this case gave her 10yrs probation instead of the prosecution’s 13yrs prison time because he says the “perfect storm” that caused her criminal behavior will unlikely ever occur again. If she does SHIT in the future, blood is on his hands. sick SOMEBODY GET THIS BITCH

goddess-lolo: labellabrianna: inunchartedwaters: amplifytheworld: referencesforartists: brenanf999: dontwantyourmoneysir: anndruyan: This is a summary of college only using two pictures; expensive as hell. That’s my Sociology “book”. In fact what it is is a piece of paper with codes written on it to allow me to access an electronic version of a book. I was told by my professor that I could not buy any other paperback version, or use another code, so I was left with no option other than buying a piece of paper for over $200. Best part about all this is my professor wrote the books; there’s something hilariously sadistic about that. So I pretty much doled out $200 for a current edition of an online textbook that is no different than an older, paperback edition of the same book for $5; yeah, I checked. My mistake for listening to my professor. This is why we download. Alternatives to buying overpriced textbooks Textbooknova Reddit Bookboon Textbookrevolution GaTech Math Textbooks Ebookee Freebookspot Free-ebooks Getfreeebooks BookFinder Oerconsortium Project Gutenberg Spreading this shit like nutella because goddamn textbooks are so expensive. not necessarily art related but as someone who couldn’t afford their textbooks this semester this is a godsend REBLOGGING because after a little digging, I found my $200 textbook for free in PDF form. friendly reminder that this exists since I know we’re all going back to college soon @goddess-lolo get them discounted books boo You such a blessing to my life girl 😭💖

glittervajayjayy: Fr, I was literally scraping together change at the bottom of my purse to buy lunch at Wendy’s when I noticed a DM from a follower showing me the pic on the right. It’s apparently an *exclusive* @asos x @oneaboveanother collaboration thats up now on asos’ site. SO upset. I’m not asking for anyone to spam or attack either party (actually, im requesting the opposite) please don’t do that. My reason for posting is just to make it known. because stuff like this happens to indie designers all over the world everyday… we’re over here like a dime shy of being able to afford f*cking value menu chicken nuggets and meanwhile our ideas are being mass produced by huge corporate retailers 😭😢 (at Santa Ana, California)

elodieunderglass: eastern-bloc-party: lord-kitschener: terrasigillata: shitface54: museum-of-artifacts: Reconstruction of bust of Roman emperor Caracalla. Looks Middle Eastern/ African maybe even Greek. Interesting post. His father, the emperor Septimius Severus, was North African (the first African emperor of Rome!), and his mother, Julia Domna, was Syrian, from a wealthy priestly family #rome was a multiethnic empire Yep! Septimius Severus was born in what is now Libya. (X) That Roman Empire was a real big place!

raychleadele: blluish: welcometoyouredoom: A book crystallized in the ocean oh mood NO NO NO. This was not crystallized by the ocean. People. No. This is why artist credit is SO DAMN IMPORTANT THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE MISINFORMED HERE. Alexis Arnold is an artist who creates crystallized books. Her work is amazing and beautiful, she’s made dozens of these. This particular one was not made by her, however, it was actually created by Catherine McEver - who was inspired to try it after seeing a show of Alexis Arnold’s work. It’s literally the first picture on Google image results if you search for “crystallized books” and she posted about it on her blog showing other process shots as she made it. TWO DIFFERENT WOMEN ARE BEING DEPRIVED OF CREDIT FOR THEIR CREATIVITY BECAUSE THIS FALSE INFORMATION IS BEING SPREAD. FUCK THAT.
